Art is a deeply personal and expressive journey that blends my culture, faith, patriotism, and identity. Through my artwork, I capture emotions and storytelling, reflecting the rich heritage of Ethiopia. Art is not just a practice but a means of connection, a bridge between generations, cultures, and experiences. It is more than a hobby or profession; it is a way to preserve history, inspire change, and celebrate identity.
My work highlights Ethiopian heritage and religious devotion while incorporating modern portraits of the people around me. Being Ethiopian is my greatest inspiration, shaping my artistic vision and creative expression. Beyond visual art, I find inspiration in music, particularly Mezmur, which places me meditative and allows my emotions to flow onto the canvas. Music influences my creative process, dictating the colors, textures, and themes that emerge in my work.
As an immigrant, I am driven by a passion for preserving Ethiopian culture while forging a unique artistic identity. I aim to bridge tradition with modernity, creating pieces that resonate with people on a personal, cultural, and religious level. I strive to spark meaningful conversations, encouraging others to reflect on their roots and heritage. Through my art, I aim to foster a sense of belonging, inspire pride in Ethiopian identity, and ensure our stories continue to be told. Art is my voice, history, and contribution to a shared cultural legacy.
